Who made Learn with Akshada
One parent, working alone
Dr Kadambini Rout
Parent of a 7-year-old
Ahead of her school’s spelling bee, my daughter was working through her word list on paper, and I sat beside her every evening reading the words aloud for half an hour. It worked, but it needed me there the entire time. So I built something that says each word, gives its meaning, and shows it used in a sentence — which helped her learn each word faster and actually understand it. Encouraged by that small success, I added a module to test the same words in the eight formats the competition uses.
I am a scientist by background and a scientific editor and writer by profession, with experience in AI tools, so my curiosity took over. I ended up building a fairly large resource around the 118 words her class teacher had given for practice. It became comprehensive enough that I thought of sharing it with other parents. That is the whole story of how the Spellhive spelling bee app came to exist. Later, the wild thought of covering every subject struck, and that led to learnwithakshada.com.
I hope it turns out to be useful for other children and parents too.
There is no company behind this
Learn with Akshada is not a business with a support team. It is me. Access codes are typed and sent by hand because I am the one sending them, which is why they take a few hours rather than a few seconds.
That is also why the refund policy reads the way it does. I would rather return ₹199 than have anyone feel they were taken in by a stranger on the internet.
If something does not work, message +91 88601 06156 on WhatsApp or write to ask@learnwithakshada.com. You will be replying to the person who built the thing.
What I have deliberately not done
- No accounts. Nothing to sign up for, no password to remember.
- Nothing collected about your child. Scores are saved on your own device and never sent anywhere. There is no server holding them, because there is no server.
- No advertising, and no subscription that quietly renews.
- Nothing hidden before you pay. Every level has a free first set, in full, so you can see whether it suits your child.
It is not from the school
Learn with Akshada is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced for any school or examination board. Please do not expect the school’s questions to follow the pattern these sets use — they are practice, not a prediction of the paper.
